Efficient digitalization for the management of small and very small equipment

Rosenberger Telematics has taken up the challenge of cost-efficient tracking of small and micro devices and proudly presents the innovative solution “Asset Tracking with R-BEACON Network”. The central aspect of this solution lies in the use of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, which impresses with its cost efficiency and energy savings.

Active telematics devices are often expensive and have a limited lifespan. As a result, passive solutions, such as the BLE-enabled BEACONs, offer an excellent alternative. Instead of GPS positions, these passive devices only send their ID number, which is detected by receiving devices. A decisive criterion for successful implementation is an extensive network of receivers. All active telematics devices with BLE support from Rosenberger Telematics automatically act as receivers, anonymously and across all customers, and continuously scan for BEACONs within a radius of around 80 meters. In addition, the R-BEACON app was developed, which serves as a portable receiving device for employees and does not significantly drain the battery.

The R-BEACON network, which consists of all BLE-enabled devices and cell phones with an active app, enables companies to seamlessly integrate analogue devices into a digital process landscape. This integration leads to the digitalization and optimization of both the management and monitoring of devices.
