Service work, made faster

R-SERVICE is the Commander companion app for technicians and service personnel: the mobile tool for on-site diagnostics, hardware commissioning, and device management. The 2024 update is the most significant since launch: four core improvements that reduce time on-site and increase the precision of every service visit.

What’s new in this release

Location-tagged log transmission

Logs submitted from R-SERVICE now carry GPS location data. Every transmission is tied to a precise location at the time of capture, giving service managers and support teams full context without a follow-up call. Where did this log come from? The app already knows.

Enhanced beacon diagnostics

Beacon detection and diagnostics have been overhauled for precision. Signal strength readings, detection range, and device identification are now more reliable, reducing false positives and giving technicians clearer confirmation that beacon infrastructure is functioning correctly before they leave site.

Improved archive with advanced search

The archive now supports advanced filtering and search across all stored logs and service records. Finding a specific device’s history, a past commissioning record, or a log from a particular date is now a matter of seconds. Less digging, more clarity.

Redesigned dashboard

The main dashboard has been restructured for faster orientation. Key device statuses, recent actions, and priority alerts are presented more clearly, reducing the cognitive load for technicians managing multiple assets across a large site.

Part of the Commander platform

R-SERVICE is one of four Commander companion apps, alongside R-DRIVE (driver app), R-COCKPIT (executive overview), and R-BEACON (proximity asset management). All four feed data into and receive configuration from Commander, the central SaaS platform hosted on private cloud infrastructure at conova communications GmbH in Salzburg, Austria.

The update is available now. All existing R-SERVICE users are encouraged to update immediately via the App Store or Google Play.
