Bronze at the German Telematics Prize 2026

Award-winning asset tracking, recognised in Berlin

At the Future Commercial Vehicles Congress in Berlin on 29 October 2025, Rosenberger Telematics received bronze in the Asset Management category at the German Telematics Prize 2026 (Deutscher Telematikpreis), awarded by ETM Verlag. The recognition came after a rigorous three-stage evaluation: concept review, practical demonstration, and live software testing.

What the jury evaluated

The winning entry: Commander’s beacon-based asset tracking module. The solution equips small and micro devices, tools, load carriers, portable equipment, with passive beacons. Those beacons are detected by a network of active telematics devices already installed across a fleet or construction site. All sighting data flows into Commander, giving fleet managers a precise, real-time inventory picture.

The jury assessed three things: innovation, practicality, and software performance. Commander passed all three stages. The result is a cost-efficient, energy-optimised approach to live inventory management that requires no manual scanning and no dedicated scanning infrastructure.

Why it matters for construction, trade, and logistics

• Eliminate the daily “where is that piece of equipment?” problem: Commander shows last-seen location and zone automatically
• No dedicated hardware infrastructure required: existing telematics devices and smartphones running R-BEACON act as the receiver network
• Passive beacons are long-life and low-cost: the economics work at scale, even for high-turnover tools
• Detection range up to approximately 80 metres, effective across large construction site zones
