There is virtually nothing that does not exist. From small tools and containers to construction machinery, light commercial vehicles and trucks, everything is represented in a construction company. All data should be compiled reliably and promptly in a single platform.

The digitalization of the construction industry offers a multitude of advantages, such as the location of vehicles or the detailed display of machine data in the Rosenberger web platform “Commander”.

Can all my vehicles and machines be displayed on one screen?

Yes, this is a key strength of the Rosenberger Commander telematics platform. It was specially developed for the specific requirements of the construction industry.

Our platform is manufacturer and machine independent and can not only locate construction machines, trucks, cars or small equipment that are equipped with Rosenberger telematics.

Especially, the integration of telematics data of the most renowned construction machinery manufacturers via ISO15143-3 (AEMP 2.0) is an essential addition to retrofit telematics.

What data do I get from my vehicles and machines?

Basically, the position (incl. address) of the last data transmission with time stamp (data and time) is always transmitted.
Furthermore, additional information is produced, depending on the used Telematics hardware (GPS Tracker, BLE Beacon, etc.) produced, such as:

  • Ignition runtime
  • Engine runtime (operating hours)
  • Speed
  • Load / idle time
  • Fuel level
  • Battery voltage of construction machine, vehicles
What options are available for analysis and evaluation?

Important information is the so-called LIVE view, with which the current status or location of the machines, vehicles, and equipment is displayed.

Furthermore, the PERFORMANCE module is a powerful tool for the clear display of performance data (e.g., : operating hours) of larger machine and vehicle fleets
in time comparison (day in hours, month in days, year in months). Hit lists can also be created easily with a mouse click.

The STATUS module provides an overview of the respective status of a machine or vehicle, such as:

Operating hours, mileage, current driver/machine operator, current job site, etc.

Can damage be recorded directly on site at the construction site?

The Rosenberger SERVICE app makes it easy to record damage to construction equipment and machinery. The recording is carried out via smartphone (iPhone or Android) in a few steps, including photo documentation carried out.

Afterward, the digital damage report is available as a PDF in the Commander for further processing.

In addition to the recording of damage to equipment, individual checklists (machine inspection) and the issue and acceptance at the construction yard can also be carried out.

How many construction machines, vehicles and equipment can be displayed simultaneously?

The Rosenberger telematics platform was specially designed to display a very large number of machines and vehicles.
The largest customers currently have an overview of over 20,000 units in Commander.

However, a major concern for us is also the clear representation of smaller machine fleets of 20 to several hundred units.

Can be informed automatically in case of theft?

Yes, the so-called GPS theft protection automatically informs you when a construction machine or vehicle leaves a previously defined area (geo-fence).
This area can be a construction site, a construction yard, or even a construction lot (route section).

The alarm is automatically sent to one or more persons.

The virtual fence (geo-fence) can also be created larger and, e.g., : also affect a whole country.

Can telematics data from the machine manufacturer be transferred to the telematics platform?lematikdaten vom Maschinenhersteller in die Telematik-Plattform übernommen werden?

The leading construction equipment manufacturers usually equip their machines with their own telematics systems ex works.

The OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturer) systems typically supply numerous telematics and tracking data from their machines to the manufacturer's telematics platform. Since almost every construction company uses not only machines from one manufacturer, it makes sense to forward this telematics data via an interface to a central system, such as the Rosenberger Commander.

In order to standardize this data transmission, the leading construction machinery manufacturers have agreed on a data standard.
This standard is defined in the ISO15143-3 standard, or AEMP 2.0.

Rosenberger has linked this machine standard to the Commander via an interface (API). Thus, the machine data of the manufacturers can easily be transferred to the Rosenberger telematics platform.
